School exchange project «Panorama Dvina / Daugava»

In the international tripartite cooperation project «Panorama Dvina / Daugava» (Sweden-Latvia-Belarus)priorities have always been educational, communication and cultural aspects. From 13 to 18 April 2009. Ten students 9 B 'Polotsk State school ¹ 1 named Skorina led by English teachers ¹ 1 N.M Neljubovoj visited the Swedish city of Visby on the island of Gotland.
During the visit of the Belarusian school children who lived in the Swedish families, spoke exclusively in English. Polochans more closely acquainted with the students and the administration of school Visby name Richard Stephen, revealing many similarities in the organization of school life in Belarus and Sweden.
For Belarusian guests was organized by a lot of cognitive activities. Together with Swedish students in class directing their participation in the creation of social spots on a healthy lifestyle. Polotsk students also visited the most beautiful places of Visby, which is a tourist destination and heritage site. In the historical museum Polochans acquainted with the history of the Vikings. During the tour of the island students have the opportunity to see the sandy beaches, old fishing villages and caves in the cliffs.
One day visit, the students organized a local school show «What does it mean to be young!», Introduced his peers with his native city, a presentation of their school. Questions about Belarus on the part of the Swedish students were many, so Polochans used all their knowledge of English, to as much as possible to tell about their country. Consolidated the friendly relations of the evening at a bowling alley. Useful for the Belarusian school students turned out to tour the University of Gotland, where the coordinator of the Office of International Relations Suk Hee Chu spoke about the structure of the university and become aware of opportunities for higher education for foreigners.
Much impressed by that school during the visit: a comfortable lifestyle, the lack of crime, and lots of bicycles, which are the main mode of transport on the island ...
In October, the students expect friends from Gotland with a return visit to Polotsk. A library of Polotsk state school has already established a Swedish corner, which tells about the friendship between the two cities - Polotsk Belarusian and Swedish Visby.
